David Raccuglia is a man of many accomplishments.He began his career in the salon business as a hairstylist. During the early ‘80s, he traveled worldwide as a platform artist. In the late ‘80s he opened his own salon, Art + Science.During his 20-plus years of experience in the hair care and salon industry, David has become one of the most respected and emulated figures in the profession. David is the founder of American Crew, one of the most successful and leading professional hair care companies in the world. American Crew was introduced in 1994 and quickly became the leading manufacturer of quality salon products for men.The brand is world renowned for its men’s haircutting education and also offers an unrivaled combination of marketing support to help stylists communicate the American Crew vision of men's grooming and fashion to the marketplace. 

David is also an accomplished photographer. His subjects include a wide range of individuals, including Jack Nicholson, Heather Graham, Benicio Del Toro, Macy Gray, Beastie Boys, Iggy Pop, the Dalai Lama, Rob Lowe, among others. His work has inspired several books, including the award winning photographic journal “Portrait of a Culture in Exile,” and “Darker Blues,” featuring the musicians of Fat Possum Records.
